Handbook of the good biker

Very useful information to study and consider.
Registration:
Preliminary Operations: if you don’t sign the discharge of responsibility and the registration form, you cannot participate to the Genova>Palermo In Moto. The signing of these modules will be held at the Hotel Mercure San Biagio Of Genoa located in Via Romairone 14, Genoa from 3 pm to 6.30 pm and from 9.30 pm to 10 pm after this time we can no longer register you.
Briefing
At 7 pm will take place the briefing with presentation of our guests of honor and the staff and a brief explanation to the participants of the event regulation.
Geographic map
Before leaving your home make sure you have the geographic map Touring Club of Liguria, Toscana, Umbria, Lazio, Abruzzo-Molise, Campania-Basilicata, Calabria, Sicilia in 1:200.000 scale. The indications of the Road Book are written according to this map.
Bring geographical map
The map can be inserted in a tank bag or in a plastic bag for A4 sheets that should be attached on the tank with electrician scotch tape.
Highlighter and Pen
A highlighter will help you trace the route on your road map and a pen to pinpoint any of your notes. Those who have the navigator can theoretically do without it but practically it is likely to make the shortest route, which is not said to be the correct one compared to the Roadmap that will be provided.
Perforation Kit
There are perforation kits allowing you to easilly repair your tires by yourself and continue your ride so buy one of these kits and also add 3 compressed air cylinders and a piece of chalk.
Brake pads
before departing control the wear condition of your brake pads and brake fluid level.
Tires
Before leaving check the wear and tear of your tires!
Documents needed
Remember that at the registrations you need to have with you your IMF membership card, your driver’s license , and your motorcycle circulation papers because in order to complete your registration you need these three documents.
Gloves
Waterproof motorcycle gloves do not exist, even if sold with this description know that is not true so in case of rain they will get wet. I recommend wearing two pairs of gloves and if possible overglove waterproof protection.
Boots
Goretex boots can be waterproof. If you are sure yours are waterproof then fine, otherwise bring waterproof overboot protections.
Jacket and pants
even the best motorcycle jackets, if exposed to rain for many hours, may moisten or even soak in the worst case. I recommend an inexpensive anti-water suit to wear over your jacket and pants will ensure you stay dry in all weather conditions.
Dressing in layers
In the morning it will be cold and for lunch it will warm, I suggest wearing heavy and lightweight garments so that you can quickly wear or remove depending on the needs of the place.
Backpack and / or tank bag
With the exception of the lucky ones having motorcycle suitcases, we recommend all other participants to make use of a waterproof backpack or tank bag, that can be covered with a waterproof bag, to store their clothing.
